About Us

Mr. R. Glenn Thompson
(1899 - 1975)

Mrs. Wilhelmina S. Thompson
(1903 - 2000)
Glenn and "Billie" (as she was known by her friends and family) were the founders and creators of the Thompson Funeral Home. They were natives of the Butler community. Billie taught English and grammar in the Butler Junior High School before her marriage to Glenn. They were co-workers in the establishment and growth of the business and shared the desire to serve and comfort hurting people.

Billie was involved in many community affairs and became a leader in civic clubs and fund drives. She was supportive to her husband in business affairs and assisted him with his responsibilities as a funeral director and community leader. They remained diligent and committed partners as their business grew. It soon became known in the Butler community as an honorable and caring "safe haven" for families when they experienced the death of their loved ones.

With God's help and guidance, they lovingly and carefully nurtured their family of three daughters.

Their Godly and strong principles of faith in God and honesty toward all mankind are upheld as guidelines for our business today.
