Garnet M. Stewart

August 19, 1929 - August 24, 2003
 

Garnet M. Stewart, age 74 of Butler, died Sunday, August 24, 2003 at 12:03 p.m. at Sunnyview Home.

Born August 19, 1929 in Natrona Heights, she was the daughter of Charles Dufford and Fern Smith.

She was a homemaker and a nurses aid working in the Butler area. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Mrs. Stewart was also a member of MADD, Christian Women's Group, A.A.R.P. and an honorary member of the Butler City Fire Department. She was the first occupant of the Historic Lafayette Apartments in Butler.

She is survived by three sons, David C. Stewart of Grand Blanc, IL, Robert G. Stewart of Butler, PA, Donald K. Stewart of Butler, PA, three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Merry Jayne) Mercurio of Butler, PA, Val Jean Stewart of Butler, PA, Margaret Stewart of Butler, PA, Six Grandsons, One Grand-daughter, and her Mother, Mrs. Fern Dufford Heyer of Butler, PA.

She was preceded in death by her husband David W. Stewart who passed away June 15, 1991 and one brother.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Tuesday, August 26, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., on Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
