Baird, 88 of Alameda Road, Butler, died Thursday, October 23, 2003 in
at her residence.
Born October 31, 1914 in
Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Albert Burton
Hilliard and Phoebe Estella Smith.
She was a homemaker. Mrs. Baird was a member of Hill United
Presbyterian Church. She attended Butler High School, class of 1933.
She was a charter member of the Alpha Society; a charter member of the
Intermediate Woman's Club, a member of the G.F.W.C. Woman's club of
Pennsylvania. Mrs. Baird served on the board of the March of Dimes and
was chairman of the "Mothers March" for a number of years. Her hobbies
were walking, baking, reading and playing bridge.
Surviving her are three sons, David DuWayne Baird of Tucker, Georgia,
Larry L. Baird of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Douglas Lloyd Baird of St.
Charles, Missouri, Thirteen Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren,
Two Step-Grandchildren, Four Step-Great Grandchildren.
Mrs. Baird married DuWayne L. Baird on May 28, 1937 he preceded her in
death on August 24, 1984. In addition to her husband she was preceded
in death by four sisters and four brothers including her sister,
Catherine Elizabeth Lind whose death was April 24, 2002.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc.,
124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, from 2 to 4 and 7 and 9
P.M. Sunday, October 26, 2003.
Services will be held at the Hill United Presbyterian Church, Monday,
October 27, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Eau Claire
Cemetery.
