George John Andrew (Andy) Bash, Jr.

March 31, 1925 - December 25, 2005

George John Andrew (Andy) Bash, Jr., age 80, of Edgewood Drive, Sarver, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, December 25, 2005 at 10:50 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital, Butler, Pennsylvania.

Born March 31, 1925 in Creighton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of George A. and Laura Baker Bash, Sr.

Mr. Bash was a member of the Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church.

He served in the Army as a technician 5th grade combat engineer in Europe, Asiatic Pacific during WWII.

He was employed as a laborer for Walters and Haas and retired in 1990.

Mr. Bash was a member of the VFW Post #894 in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania. He was a lifetime blood donor at Central Blood Bank. He enjoyed woodworking, feeding the birds and doing yard work.

Mr. Bash is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Boardman Bash who he married June 25, 1948; two daughters, Sandra L. Bash of Butler, Pennsylvania and Brenda L. Bash of Cabot, Pennsylvania; his two beloved dogs, Toby and Star; two brothers, Martin Bash of Sarver, Pennsylvania and Thomas Bash of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania; five sisters, Margaret Love of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, Minnie Sum of Valencia, Pennsylvania, Violet Hunter of Cheswick, Pennsylvania, Mrs. George (Connie) Hoak of Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. George (Mary) Sager of Waterman, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews.

One brother, Chester Gibson, preceded Mr. Bash in death.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

Services will be held at the Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend James A. Lynn, pastor of his church, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania.
