Mrs. Helen Gilbert Beck
age 90 of Newhaven Court Butler, PA formerly of
Shanor Manor, passed away Sunday December 18,
2011 at 11:50 a.m. in the Butler Memorial
Hospital.
Born in Holbrook,
Pennsylvania on November 19,1921, she was the
daughter of the late James Frank Gilbert and
Laura Morris Gilbert.
Mrs. Beck was a homemaker
and a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church.
She was a lover of nature especially birds.
Helen had a chickadee at her home that she would
hand feed. She loved tending her wildflowers and
up until her death still walked up to two miles
daily at Moraine State Park or Jennings
Environmental Center She was a great supporter
of The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy.
She is survived by two
daughters; Billie Ann Moser and her husband Tom
of Murrysville, and Christine L. Lamotte and her
husband Darrell of Butler; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren;
one step daughter;
Mary Elizabeth " Betty " Beck of Youngstown,
Ohio; one sister; Lillian Stockdale of Decatur,
Georgia and a number of nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death
by her husband Paul Richard Beck whom she
married on September 15,1945 and passed away on
June 30, 2002 and also by one brother Carl
Raymond Gilbert.
Friends and family of
Helen Beck will be received at The Thompson
Home, Inc., 124 East North Street,. Butler, PA
16001on Thursday December 22, 2011 from 2 to 4
and 6 to 8 p.m.
A memorial service will be
scheduled for sometime in January
Interment will take place
in the North Side Cemetery Butler, PA
