Hubert "Herb" Black, Jr.

October 8, 1936 - December 19, 2005

Hubert "Herb" Black, Jr., age 69 of McCalmont Road, Renfrew, Pennsylvania, died Monday, December 19, 2005 at 10:17 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born October 8, 1936 in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Hubert Black, Sr. and the late Naomi Leavelle.

Mr. Black was a retired truck driver for Coca Cola and he had been a supervisor for ADM Shipyard in New Orleans. He was Baptist by faith. Mr. Black was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.

Mr. Black is survived by his wife, Pennye A. (Crabtree) Black whom he married on May 5, 1973, a son, Vincent "Tommy" Black of Renfrew, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Rebecca) Shealy of Picayune, Mississippi; a granddaughter, Katrina Marie Black; two sisters, Mrs. Bud (Gloria) Wolfe of Mount Chestnut, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Wanda Halmen of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania; a brother, Lester M. Hulick of Butler, Pennsylvania; two close friends, Garry Bennett, Jr. of Wiggins, Mississippi, and Julio Baca of New Orleans, Louisiana.

A Memorial services will be held at the Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church on Friday, December 23, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jeffrey Curtis officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania.
