George W. "Pee-Wee" Blatt

December 30, 1928 - August 4, 2005
 

George W. "Pee-Wee" Blatt, age 76, of Hoffman Road, Chicora, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, August 4, 2005 at 6:15 p.m. at his residence. 

Born December 30, 1928 in Fenelton, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Charles G. Blatt and the late Bessie L. Morrow. 

Mr. Blatt was a machinist for Fritz Moon, Inc. from 1948-1963 and then for Damon Industry from 1963-1973.  He worked for American Glass Research from 1973-199, retiring on March 17, 1991.  He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was a member of the church's personnel committee and the church council.  Mr. Blatt was a member of the Happy Hunters Sportsmen Club and a member of the #769 William H. Miller Lodge F. & A. M. - Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle.  He was an avid hunter and woodworker. 

Mr. Blatt is survived by his wife, Mildred A. (Millie) Blatt, who he married on January 15, 1949; by two grandsons, Mick Young of Chicora, Pennsylvania and Chad Young of Bradenton, Florida; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Morrow of Prospect, Pennsylvania; a son-in-law, Denny Young of Chicora, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews. 

Mr. Blatt was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Young, one sister Bessie Heasley and three brothers, Paul, Ben and Earl Blatt. 

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, August 6, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, August 7, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. 

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, August 8, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Mary J, Sickles, of North Butler Presbyterian Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in North Butler Presbyterian Church Cemetery. 

Contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001 or to the William H. Miller Lodge F. and A. M.
