Edwin C. Brady

Edwin C. Brady, 82, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 18, 2012 at 11:40 a.m. at the Butler V A Medical Center.

He was born January 13, 1930 in Conemaugh, Pennsylvania to the late Roy B. Brady, Sr. and Kathleen (Angus) Brady Sievers.

Mr. Brady was a member of the Living Word Evangelical Free Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War, and retired from the United States Army as a Quarter Master. He worked at the Butler Post Office as a Clerk retiring in 1986 after 17 years of service. Mr. Brady was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #249 of Butler, and a Life member of the American Legion Post #117 of Butler, and a member of the DAV Chapter #64 of Butler He was also a Past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #470.

Mr. Brady is survived by one daughter, Diana Amos-Campbell of Butler, PA; two sons, Matthew W. Brady of Yadkinville, NC, and Thomas K. Brady of Butler, PA; six grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; three brothers, Roy B. Brady of Osterberg, PA, Robert J. Sievers of Shalotte, NC and Jack Sievers of Pine City, NY; one sister, Shirley Cain of St. Petersburg, FL; and also by a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary L. (Johnston) Brady whom he married on December 8, 1952 and passed away on June 26, 2008; one son in law, Jay Amos, and one great granddaughter, Hanna Amos.

Friends will be received at Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA. Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Reverend H. William Glassman of the Living Word Evangelical Free Church, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.

Officers and Members of the American Legion Post #778 Lyndora and VFW Post #249 will conduct graveside military services.
