Michael Dennis Cavanaugh, age 55 of
Cocoa, Florida, formerly of Butler, Pennsylvania passed away suddenly
at the Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida on August
12, 2005.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on
April 27, 1950, he was the son of the late Joseph Cavanaugh and
Lucille Bridges Cavanaugh.
Mr. Cavanaugh was raised in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to Cocoa, Florida five years ago.
He was employed with the Ironworkers Local Union #3 in Pittsburgh for
fifteen years and has been employed with Siemens-Westinghouse for the
past twenty-three years as an engineer and a project management
professional.
Mr. Cavanaugh was a member of the
Cocoa Moose Lodge # 1717, where he was an active member in their pool
league. He also had a passion for rebuilding classic cars, and cooking
for friends and family.
Mr. Cavanaugh is survived by his
loving wife of thirty-eight years, Patricia Murphy Cavanaugh, by one
son, Patrick Cavanaugh of Grove City, Pennsylvania, two daughters:
Mrs. Gregory (Erin) Barto of Butler, Pennsylvania and Meagan Cavanaugh
of Cocoa, Florida, six grandchildren, and by one brother, Joseph
Cavanaugh of Arlington, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by one
sister: Shirley McCarthy of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Cavanaugh will be received at The Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc. on
Wednesday, August 17, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, August
18, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Blessing
Services will be held on Friday, August 19, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the
funeral home with the Reverend Father Harry R. Bielewicz of St. Paul's
Roman Catholic Church, Butler, Pennsylvania officiating. |
