Richard L."Pinky" Christy Obituary (1932 - 2022)

Richard L. "Pinky" Christy, 89 of Butler, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia, Cabot, PA, surrounded by his family. Born February 9, 1932, in Butler, PA, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Esther E. (Walters) Christy. Richard was employed as a foreman and a crane operator for R.R. Schubert in Butler until his retirement. He was a member of East Butler Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and Sunday School Treasurer. Richard enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. Surviving are two sons and a daughter: Richard C. Christy, Brian L. Christy and his wife Sharon and Debra D. Panei and her husband James all of Butler, PA; ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude M. Christy who he married on October 26, 1949, and died on June 2, 2014, his parents and three brothers and a sister. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 E. North Street, Butler, PA 16001. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at East Butler Presbyterian Church, 9th Street at Randolph Ave., East Butler, PA 16029 with Rev. Mary Kitchen officiating. Burial will be at North Butler Cemetery in Oakland Township next to his wife.
