Roy Eugene Deal, Sr., 80,
of East Butler, Pennsylvania, went home to be with
his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 26, 2014
at 3:10 a.m. at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born December 22,
1933 in North Washington, Pennsylvania to the late
Lawrence Deal and Jennie (Collingwood) Deal.
Mr. Deal was a member of
Faith Fellowship Alliance Church. He worked at
Castle Rubber for 12 years, then worked at Don
Black's Esso Station in Bon Aire for 5 years. Mr.
Deal worked at Portman Dairy, while working at
Portman Dairy he also worked for Shriver Bus
Company. He retired from the Sunbeam Coal in 1993
after 18 years. After retirement he worked at the
Butler Auto Auction from 2000 to 2008. He was a
former Scout Master in East Butler. Mr. Deal was a
greeter and usher at his church for many years and
also served as a trustee. He especially enjoyed
spending time with his family, grandchildren, great
grandchildren and family gatherings and reunions. He
enjoyed listening to southern gospel and county
music. Mr. Deal was a member of Tanglewood Center.
He enjoyed collecting vintage cars and coins.
Mr. Deal is survived by
three sons, Roy Deal, Jr and his wife Lynn of
Butler, PA, Terry Deal and his wife Brenda of Karns
City, PA and Daniel Deal and his wife Debbie of
Butler, PA; three daughters, Deborah Schulter of
Butler, PA, Kathleen Deal of Butler, PA and Marcia
Grates and her husband Danny of East Butler, PA;
eighteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren;
one sister, Margaret (Peg) Cook of FL; and several
nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents,
he was preceded in death by his wife, Marceda Belle
Deal, whom he married on June 21, 1952, and who
passed away on September 24, 2010; son-in-law George
Schulter and two brothers, Howard "Lee" Deal and
Friends will be received
Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.
at the Thompson - Miller
Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler,
Visitation will also be
Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Faith
Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way - Fared
Drive, Butler, PA. Funeral services will follow at
2:00 p.m. at the church with Reverend Richard Jenks
and Van Brenlove officiating.
