Ada P. Powell DeArmitt Obituary (1930 - 2022)

Ada P. Powell DeArmitt of Butler passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at the age 92. She was born on March 1, 1930, and was the daughter of Linus T. & and Elsie Marie (Shick) Powell of Latrobe, PA. Ada co-owned and operated the K & L Motel and Mobile Home Court in Butler and Prospect with her husband, Jerry. Ada and Jerry Retired in 1986 to travel the U.S. in their motor home and enjoyed spending winter months in Avon Park, FL. She enjoyed crocheting, shopping, golfing, and playing cards. She also loved Christmas time and really enjoyed building her Dept. 56 Village every year. She also enjoyed being a chaperone and traveling with the Greenwood Robinettes Marching Corp. Ada was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Butler and the Eastern Star. She is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Gerald (Jerry) DeArmitt; her parents, Linus and Marie Powell; two sisters, Helen Hechmer, Clara McElroy; and one brother, William (Bill) Powell. She is survived by three children, Theresa (Keith) Snell, Duane (Patti) DeArmitt, and Bonnie (Alan) Peffer. Loving Grandmother to nine grandchildren, Brian, Eve, Staci, Jennifer, Adam, Eric, Andrea, Isaac, and Brandon; and Great-Grandmother to ten great-grandchildren, Braylon, Layton, Ellie, Patrick, Mazzie, Emslie, Ashton, Jayda, Riley, Jazmyn, Josiah, Estelle, and Michael; and one sister, Louise Brehm. Visitation will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 East North St., Butler, PA on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm with services immediately following. Burial will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
