Donald L. Double, 79, of
Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away Friday, January 8,
2016 at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
after a long battle with COPD (emphysema).
Born November 2, 1936 in Clay
Twp., Pennsylvania, he was son of the late Hoyt Double
and Viola (Christley) Double.
Don was a Ladle Craneman at
Armco (now known as AK Steel), retiring in 1993 with 33
years of service. He was a veteran of the United States
Air Force, serving during the Korean War. He was a
member of the American Legion Post #117. Don was a
member of St. Wendelins Church. When he became too ill
to attend, he loved watching Father Harry saying mass on
TV. Don was a great caregiver for many people in his
lifetime. He loved the Lord, his family, watching the
Pirates and Young & the Restless and celebrating St.
"Patty's" Day with his wife. He also liked attending
Cahal Dunne concerts and doing woodworking. Don liked to
travel and to make people laugh. Don was a 1954 graduate
of West Sunbury High School and Butler Business School.
We are comforted by knowing that Don is talking to
Jesus, safe and secure in His love. You will be missed,
but glad you are free at last.
