Thressa A. Fair, 60, of
Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 15,
2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 2, 1951
in Rimersburg, Pennsylvania to the late Kenneth R.
Fair and Eva M. McClaine Fair.
Thressa was a 1969 graduate
of Butler High School and a 1971 graduate of The
Salvation Army School of Officers Training, Bronx,
NY. She worked as a cook at the Salvation Army,
where she was also a member and a former Captain.
She served a total of 38 years of service with the
Salvation Army. Thressa was a Salvationist, a member
of the League of Mercy, a Sunday School Teacher, a
Girlguard leader, and she taught timbrels and home
league. .
Miss Fair is survived by
three sisters, Mary Mauthe and her husband Martin of
Hooker, PA, Linda Mauthe and her companion Bill
Young of Butler, PA and Nancy L. Fair of Butler, PA;
several nieces and nephews and several grand-nieces
and grand-nephews.
In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death by four sisters, Gloria,
Lucille, Carrie and Janice,three brothers, Lewis,
Donald and Kenneth, and one niece, Norma.
Friends will be received
Saturday, November 19, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00
p.m.
at the Thompson - Miller Funeral
Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held immediately following
at 6:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home
Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Captain
Henry Thibault of the Salvation Army officiating.
Interment will take place in
the Rose Hill Cemetery.
