Kenneth W. Fend, 75 of
Butler, died Thursday at 11:42 pm, December 11, 2003 at Allegheny
General Hospital.
Born July 16, 1928 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of James
Fend and Emily Cottrill.
Mr. Fend worked as a custodian for Butler Area School District.
Mr. Fend was a Veteran of the United States Army of the 560th Field
Artillery Battalion serving during the Korean War.
Mr. Fend was employed by Western Auto Automotive Parts Store for Seven
Years and then took a position March 3, 1974 as a custodian for the
Butler Area School District until retirement December 28, 1990.
Mr. Fend is survived by a brother, Charles Fend of Butler,
Pennsylvania, and five sisters, Mrs. William (Pearl) Osche, Mrs. John
(Mary Lou) Davis, Mrs. Conrad (Thelda) Geibel, Mrs. John (Alice) Day,
and Mrs. Mable Mulneix all of Butler and a number of nieces and
nephews.
Mr. Fend is preceded in death by five brothers.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc.,
Saturday December 13, 2003 at 11:00 am. with the Reverend Dennis
Molnar officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
