Kenneth Victor Fry

Kenneth Victor Fry, 88, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 12, 2017 at the Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born December 8, 1928 in Butler Twp., Pennsylvania to the late Victor A. Fry and the late Della Lechner Fry.

Ken served in the U.S. Army as a Medic in the 112 Regiment during the Korean War and the National Guard PA 28th Division . He was an Electrician for IBEW Local #10, retiring on January 1, 1991, and was recently recognized as a 60 year member of the IBEW. Ken volunteered at Butler Memorial Hospital and also volunteered 1000 hours for wiring at PARC. He also served as a Boy Scout Master in Troop 12. Ken was a member of the Meridian Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Janice "Jan" Marilyn Oesterling Fry, whom he married on May 6, 1949; one son, Kenneth Paul Fry of Butler, PA; three daughters, Marcie Otterson and her husband John of Enola, PA, Sandy Mailloux of Butler, PA, and Joyce Braun and her husband Donald of Pittsburgh, PA; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert D. Fry of Frostproof, FL, and Raymond E. Fry of Wexford, PA; two sisters, Victoria A. Dunbar of Youngsville, PA, and Jean Buchanan of Fort Collins, CO; and a number of nieces and nephews .

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther Thompson and Ruth Lewis.

Friends will be received Friday, March 17, 2017, 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm at Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA .

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017, 11:00 am at the Meridian Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Avenue Butler, PA, with Reverend Stephen M . Franklin of Meridian Presbyterian Church and Reverend Dennis Molnar of Unity Presbyterian Church in Greentree, PA, officiating .

Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.

Officers and members of the American Legion Post #117 Butler, the American Legion Post #778 Lyndora, and the VFW Post #249 Butler, will conduct military honors at the church following the service.
