Violet L. Gibson

January 5, 1916 - August 6, 2004
 

Violet L. Gibson, 88 of Butler, died Friday, August 6, 2004 at 8:10 a.m. in Lowrie House.

Born January 5, 1916 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Leland Smith and Blanche Shockey.

Mrs. Gibson was a member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church. She was a charter member of the Armco Country Club and she enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Mary Jo DeMatteis of Butler, four granddaughters, Shari Penrod, Lisa Littlejohn, Vicki Zihmer, and Amy Burton all of Butler, her grandson, Mike Gibson, Jr. also of Butler, eight great grandchildren, her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Debbie Gibson of Butler and all her loving friends at Lowrie House.

Preceding her in death were her husband M. B. "Mickey" Gibson who was deceased July 28, 1980, one son, Michael D. Gibson and one daughter, Sharon L. Garbish.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, Sunday August 8, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Monday August 9, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Dr. David West of Christ Outreach Church officiating Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
