| Persis Johnson Grupen, 89 of formerly of Zelienople,
died Wednesday, October 15, 2003 in Evergreen Nursing Center, Harmony.
Born August 22, 1914 in Hancock, New Hampshire, she was the
daughter of the late Fred Johnson and Mary Miller.
She worked as a Secretary for Rumford Printing Company. She was
Presbyterian by faith. Mrs. Grupen was a veteran of WW II serving as a
1st Sergeant to Women's Army Auxiliary she retired in 1945-1946 as a
Master Sergeant.
Surviving are one sister, Jean McDonald of Concord, New Hampshire, and
a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband William G. Grupen, four
brothers, one sister, and two nephews.
There will be no public visitation or services.
Interment will be in North Side Cemetery. Arrangements by
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc.
