Carolyn V.
Gumpper, 58 of Butler, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, September
5, 2004 at Sunnyview Home after a long illness.
Born January 10, 1946 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of
Frank Rea and Grace McMillan Rea.
Mrs. Gumpper was a part of the fellowship at Cornerstone Baptist
Church and she was past president of the Christian Women's Club in
Butler. She enjoyed gospel quartet music and traveling.
She had worked as a secretary at Nationwide Insurance Company as well
as several other local firms, most recently at the C. W. Howard
Insurance Agency.
Mrs. Gumpper is survived by her husband, John W. Gumpper, Jr. who she
married December 1, 1979, one son, Brian K. Prentice and his wife,
Heidi, of Monroeville, Pennsylvania, two brothers, Don Rea and his
wife, Annis, of Florida and Jim Rea and his wife, Gladys, of Butler.
Friends will be received at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124
East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, September 7, 2004
from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, September 8, 2004 from 10 to noon.
Funeral services will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home,
Inc., on Wednesday, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John E. Neyman, Jr. of the
Cornerstone Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at
Butler County Memorial Park.
