Irving L. "Bud" Halsted,
Jr., 75, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on
Friday, September 5, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Butler
He was born May 18, 1939 in Florence, South Carolina
to the late Irving L. Halsted and Mildred (Eberharter)
Mr. Halsted was a graduate of Scottdale High School.
He then went on to St. Vincent College in Latrobe,
PA and received his Bachelor of Science Degree. Mr.
Halsted was the purchasing manger for Castle Rubber
Company for 36 years retiring in 2003. He was a
member of St. John's Catholic Church in Scottdale,
PA and was a member of the Elks Lodge #0777. Bud
enjoyed playing golf and trying to master the
Bud is survived by his wife, Gayle (Piper) Halsted,
whom he married on January 27, 1962; one son,
Douglas T. Halsted and his wife Alyssa of Charlotte,
NC; one brother, Fred Halsted and his wife Billie of
Scottdale, PA; two sisters, Susan Torri and Julie
King and her husband Phil, both of Philadelphia, PA;
nine nieces and eleven nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death
by his brother-in-law, Peter Torri.
There will be no public visitation.
A private memorial service and burial will be held
in Green Ridge Memorial Park in Connellsville, PA.
Arrangements are being handled by the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North
Street, Butler, PA.
