Elsie May Heichel

Elsie May Heichel, 76 of Crisswell Road, Butler, died Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 2:50 a.m. in Allegheny General Hospital.

Born October 13, 1927 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of William C. Mitchell and Ruth Steffan.

Mrs. Heichel was a homemaker. She was a member of Community Alliance Church and the Alliance Women at her church. She was also a member of RVICS; she enjoyed gardening, traveling, and sewing. Mrs. Heichel was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

Mrs. Heichel is survived by her second husband Robert L. Heichel, whom she married on December 14, 1972 by five sons, Harry Dodds of Butler, Pennsylvania, Larry and his wife Lynn Dodds of Virginia, Stanley and his wife Cecelia Dodds of Butler, Pennsylvania, Douglas and his wife Cindy Dodds of Butler, Pennsylvania, Brian and his wife Kimberly Dodds of Chicora, Pennsylvania, three daughters, Susan and her husband Dennis Protzman, Christine and her husband Wendell Uhl of Michigan, Rebecca and her husband Tony McCrackin of Florida, by twenty-two grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one brother, James Mitchell of Coudersport, Pennsylvania, three sisters, June Moore of Murraysville, Pennsylvania, Thelma Drescher, of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Dorathy Farnen of Butler, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Heichel was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry W. Dodds, Jr. who passed away on May 29, 1970, by two grandchildren, 2 brothers and a daughter-in-law.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Monday, October 11, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, October 12th from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.

Services will be held at the Community Alliance Church, Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Ted Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hope House Ministries, 368 Crisswell Road, Butler, Pennsylvania 16002.
