Barbara E. Hemphill

Barbara E. Hemphill, 70, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 1, 2013 at 9:52 p.m. at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born January 17, 1943 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Fern L. (Kyle) Bell.

Mrs. Hemphill was a graduate of Moniteau High School and worked at the former Hot Dog Shop, Bobbi Brooks, Grahams Nursing Home and Olan Mills. She was a member of the Country Music Association and the East Butler Fireman's Club. She enjoyed dancing to country music and the oldies and bowling. Over the years, she was involved with many bowling leagues.

Mrs. Hemphill is survived by one daughter, Sherri L. Hemphill of Butler, PA; and her cat, Squeak.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Hemphill, Sr., whom she married August 17, 1963, and who passed away August 12, 1990; her son, James R. Hemphill, Jr.; her step-father, Chester L. Bell; and her cat, Casper.

Friends will be received Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 5, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, with Reverend William Jamieson officiating.

Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.
