Rhoda Jean (Freehling) Huber Obituary (1930 - 2022)

With sorrowful rejoicing the family of Rhoda Jean (Freehling) Huber, age 91, announces her homegoing to meet the Savior, she has loved for nearly 83 years, on Friday, February 25, 2022. Rhoda was born March 9, 1930, to Helen (Meeker) Freehling and Alvin Freehling in Cabot, Pa. She was the last leaf on her family tree. On May 12, 1949, she married Floyd Huber in Butler, and they shared 65 years of life together until September 15, 2014. They raised 4 children who survive her: Renee (Christopher), Michael (Lynn), Matthew (Carla), and Andrea (Russell). They were blessed with 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. One of the blessings of Rhoda's life was to be a wife and mother, and later grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded by her parents, husband, and brother, and is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Rhoda graduated from Butler High School and worked in the office until her marriage. With her children grown, she returned to the labor force, eventually retiring from Community Alliance Church, in Butler, PA One of Rhoda's passions and gifts was teaching, especially teaching the Bible, which she did as often as she was able. Private burial service will be held at Greenlawn Burial Estates. Friends will be received on Friday, April 8, 2022, from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the Celebration of Life service at 1:00 p.m. at the Community Alliance Church, to be conducted by the Rev. Michael Huber and Rev. Russell Smith. Memorial contributions may be made to the Great Commission Fund at Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Rd., Butler, PA 16001.
