Reverend Dr. Richard K. Kennedy

May 30, 1921 - November 1, 2005

The Reverend Dr. Richard K. (Dick) Kennedy, age 84 of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, Pennsylvania, formerly of West Deer Township, died Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at 9:30 p.m. at Concordia Lutheran Ministries. 

Born May 30, 1921 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Karl S. Kennedy and the late Frances McMurray. 

Reverend Kennedy was a retired Presbyterian Minister.  During his ministry he served the following churches:  Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Vandergrift, PA, from 1944 to 1950, First United Presbyterian Church, Crafton, PA, from 1950 to 1956 and the East Union Presbyterian Church from 1956 until his retirement in 1993.  He was Pastor Emeritus at East Union Presbyterian Church in West Deer Township.   Reverend Kennedy was a graduate of Westminster College and Pittsburgh Xenia Seminary.  He was awarded his Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Westminster College in 1958.    He was a member of Beaver-Butler Presbytery and he enjoyed reading, traveling and golfing. 

Reverend Kennedy is survived by his wife,  LeeAnna B. McColgin Kennedy whom he married on June 28, 1945, by one son, Karl Edgar and his wife Nancy Kennedy of Valencia, Pennsylvania, one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marsha Lee) Crall of Chicago, Illinois, two grand-daughters,  Elizabeth Ann Kennedy Patel and Pamela Beth Crall Landsteiner; two grandsons, Daniel Edgar Kennedy and Timothy Scott Crall; two sisters, Jane Lorris and Ruth Hill both of Butler, Pennsylvania and by two nieces and two nephews. 

Reverend Kennedy was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Kennedy.  

There will be no public visitation. 

A Memorial Services will be held at East Union Presbyterian Church, 292 East Union Road, Cheswick, Pennsylvania on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at 3:00 p.m.
