Bartholomew W. Legas

August 5, 1916 - October 15, 2003

Bartholomew W. Legas, 87 of Stickle Road, Portersville, died Wednesday, October 15, 2003 in at his residence.

Born August 5, 1916 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Blaze Ligas and Sophia Hink Ligas.

Mr. Legas worked as a driver and delivery man for Signal Transfer Co. He was a member of St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Prospect, Pennsylvania. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WW II.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Gene (Donna) Creech of Portersville, Pennsylvania, Two Grand-daughters, Five Great-Grandchildren, One Great-Great-Grandchild, two Brothers, Michael Legas, Henry Legas two Sisters, Mrs. Ann Misko, Mrs. Martha Griener of all of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Legas is preceded in death by his wife, Bernadette P. Legas who passed away on June 12, 2001, three sisters and three brothers.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Friday, October 17, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Saturday, October 18, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Matthew Tosello officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
