Charles C. Marshall, 83,
of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on November
27, 2011 at 12:45 p.m. in the Good Samaritan
Hospice Unit at Concordia.
He was born December 19,
1927 in Penn Township, Pennsylvania, to the late
Clyde C. Marshall and Gertrude Cooper Marshall.
Mr. Marshall was a member
of Middlesex Presbyterian Church (PCA). He was a
veteran of the United States Army serving in
World War II. Mr. Marshall was a member of the
Penn Township Veterans Association. He was a
member of the Plasterer's Union, NRA, Rocky
Mountain Elk Foundation and The Wild Turkey
Foundation. Mr. Marshall also served two terms
as the Penn Township Supervisor and Road Master.
He was also an avid gardener, enjoyed working
outdoors and loved sharing time with his family
and friends. Mr. Marshall worked as a Heavy Duty
Equipment Operator for Winters and Fleming Road
Construction.
Mr. Marshall is survived
by his loving spouse Melva Ann Marshall whom he
married on June 27, 1953; one daughter, Kathleen
Norante of Butler, PA; one son, Charles C.
Marshall and his wife, Janice of Pittsford, NY;
four grandchildren, Nicholas Marshall Norante,
Adam Lanni Marshall, Kim Schulwitz ,Jennifer
Romano and her husband, Mark; two great
grandchildren, Matthew Schulwitz and, Emelia
Grace Romano; two sisters - Jane Graham of
Murrysville, PA, Suzanne Powell and her husband,
Sinclair of Ann Arbor, MI; one brother, George
C. Marshall and his wife Shirley of Butler, PA.
and also by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death
by one sister Marjorie Dionne.
Friends will be received
Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 2:00 pm - 4:00
and 7:00 to 9:00 pm
at Thompson -
Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street
Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday,
November 30, 2011, 1:30 pm at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East
North St. Butler, PA, with Reverend Kevin M.
Bowen of Middlesex Presbyterian Church (PCA),
officiating.
Burial will take place in the
Brownsdale Cemetery.
In lieu of
flowers memorial donations may made be to the
Concordia Lutheran Ministries, 134 Marwood Road,
Cabot, PA. 16023.
Officers
and Members of the VFW Post #249 and the
American Legion Post #778 of Lyndora will
conduct military services at the funeral home
following the completion of the funeral service.
