Francis G. "Bud" Marte, 87,
of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 6,
2014 at 4:00 a.m. at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born January 2, 1927
in Duquesne, Pennsylvania to the late Francis G.
Marte, Sr. and Anne Marie (Keene) Marte.
Mr. Marte was a veteran of
the United States Army, serving in World War II in
the European, African and Middle Eastern Campaigns.
He worked as a draftsman at Koppers, Inc. in
Pittsburgh, where he retired from in 1992. Mr. Marte
was protestant by faith. He enjoyed woodworking,
metal working and hunting.
Mr. Marte is survived by
his wife, Gloria M. Marte, whom he married August
30, 1958; one daughter, Jodie Stevenson and her
husband Paul of Murrysville, PA; one brother, Dr.
Jay G. Marte of Butler, PA; and a number of nieces
In addition to his parents,
he was preceded in death by three brothers, Adrian
C. Marte, John D. Marte and an infant brother; and
an infant sister.
Friends will be received
Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the
Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North
Street, Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held immediately following
at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Kris
Denning of Oak Hills Christian Church officiating.
Burial will take place in the
Butler County Memorial Park.
