Edith M. McClain, 86 of Jacksonville, died Thursday, September 4, 2003 in Elm Croft Assisted Living, Jacksonville, Florida.

Born May 30, 1917 in Forward Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Lester Whitmire and Elizabeth Hageman.

She was a homemaker. Mrs. McClain was an active member of her church, a member of the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class and the Women's Missionary Fellowship.

Surviving are two sons, Richard L. McClain of Jacksonville, Florida, and Donald McClain of Butler, Pennsylvania, three Grandchildren, six Great Grandchildren, a Sister, Mrs. Ruth Perdue of Titusville, Florida, a Brother, Walter Whitmire of Butler, Pennsylvania, and a number of Nieces and Nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband Leroy M. McClain, deceased February 23, 2000, two Brothers and one Sister.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Sunday, September 7, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Monday, September 8, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend David Maitland officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
