He was born November 27, 1950 in Butler, Pennsylvania to Richard J. McClaine and Evelyn M. Callihan McClaine.

Mr. McClaine was a United States Marines Reserve where he served as a staff sergeant. He was a Senior Designer with CSD Engineers, Carnegie PA. Don enjoyed Mountain Men Rendezvous and also enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing and especially being with his family.

Mr. McClaine is survived by his wife, Kathy A. (Hutchison) McClaine, whom he married on October 2, 1970; one son, Matthew McClaine and his wife Kimberly of Butler, PA; one daughter, Angie Gillis and her husband Jason of Butler, PA; four grandchildren, Dathan Gillis, Riley Gillis, Owen Gillis, and Logan McClaine; his parents, Richard J. & Evelyn McClaine of Butler, PA; two sisters, Connie Sawford and her husband Bud of Butler, PA, Mary Kay Werth and her husband John of Amherst, OH; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard "Pete" McClaine, and one nephew, P. J. McClaine.

Friends will be received Friday, July 15, 2011 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Reverend Donald Aull of Faith United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
