Helen G. (Davis) McKinney, 83,
of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 1, 2011
at 10:49 p.m. in the VNA Inpatient Hopsice.
She was born December 27, 1927
in Evans City, Pennsylvania to the late James C. Davis
and Myrtle M. Wilson Davis.
Mrs. McKinney worked as an
Executive Secretary for Nationwide Insurance, retiring
in August 1983 after 37 years. She was a life-long
member of First Baptist Church of Butler, where she was
a member of the Berean Adult Sunday School Class.
Mrs. McKinney is survived by
one sister, Mrs. E. Lynn (Margaret) Hughes of
Greenville, PA; one brother, James C. Davis, Jr. and his
wife Ann of Plymouth, IN; several nieces and nephews;
and the shared daughters of her life long friends, the
late John & Irene Nichols; Debra Broad and her husband
Sam, Delores Rood and her husband Dennis, and Judy
Hemphill and her husband Ron.
In addition to her parents, she
was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William G.
"Bill" McKinney, whom she married April 8, 1951 and who
passed away April 13, 2010.
Friends will be received on
Wednesday, October 5, 2011,
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
at Thompson - Miller
Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October
6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the
Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc.,
124 East North Street Butler, PA,
with Pastor David Maitland of First Baptist Church
officiating.
Burial will take place in the Greenlawn Burial
Estates.
