Charles Edward McMichael,
99, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on January
1, 2012 at 11:40 p.m. at the Butler Memorial
Hospital.
He was born October 16,
1912 in Ambridge, Pennsylvania to the late John L.
McMichael and Leila McConnell McMichael.
Mr. McMichael was a turn
foreman in the Strip Coating Silicon Anneal
department at Butler Armco Steel for 43 years,
retiring in 1977. He was a veteran of the United
States Army serving in World War II in the Southwest
Pacific 24th Infantry Division. He was a member of
Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church. Mr. McMichael was a
member of the #769 William H. Miller Lodge F. and
A.M., Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of
New Castle, Syria Shrine of Pittsburgh, Butler
Shrine Luncheon Club and the Tanglewood Senior
Center.
Mr. McMichael is survived
by one son, Charles McMichael, Jr. of Butler, PA;
and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents,
he was preceded in death by his wife Helen Logan
McMichael who passed away June 8, 1981; an infant
daughter; and two brothers, Cyrus McMichael and John
McMichael.
Friends will be received
Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m.
at the Thompson - Miller Funeral
Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday,
January 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace @ Calvary
Lutheran Church, 123 East Diamond Street, Butler,
PA, with Pastor Don Short, officiating.
Burial will take place in the
Deer Creek Cemetery, West Deer Township, PA.
Officers and Members of #769 William H. Miller
Lodge F. & A.M. will meet at the funeral home at
6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 to conduct
memorial services.
