Doris Dittmer
Forbs Mechling, 89 of Butler, died Wednesday, November 5, 2003 in
Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born June 14, 1914 in Butler, PA, she was the daughter of George
Albert Dittmer and Adda Ethel Garrard.
She attended St. Peter's Parochial School and was a graduate of Butler
High School.
Mrs. Mechling worked for Jaffee's in the better dress department for
30 years.
Mrs. Mechling was a member of Middlesex Presbyterian Church, Lake
Arthur Country Club and the Women's Wednesday Golf League.
She is survived by a daughter, Antoinette Forbes Tomko, and is the
aunt of Gail Ciccarello, Melissa, Geoffry and Beth Gitlin, Lynne Wells
and Sharon Day.
Preceding her in death were her husband John Laing Forbes, who was
deceased in August 19, 1973, two sisters and also her second husband,
Thomas Fritz Mechling, deceased in 1987.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc.,
124 East North Street, Butler, PA, from Sunday November 9, 2003 from
2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc.,
Monday November 10, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in North
Side Cemetery.

North McKean Street, Butler, PA 16001.
