Margaret R. "Marge" Meindl

Margaret R. "Marge" Meindl, 69, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 11, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

She was born December 28, 1948 in Butler, Pennsylvania to Alvin G. Rettig and the late Bertha Herold Rettig.

Marge was a 1966 graduate of Butler Area High School. She then attended Capitol University and went on to receive her M.Ed. and MBA from Penn State University. Marge worked as a Professional Development Manager for over 25 years for IBM in Marietta, GA, Boca Raton, FL. Hong Kong, China, and Raleigh, NC, retiring in 2008. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot. Marge organized tutors to help low income students learn to read through the Augustine Literacy Project in Raleigh, NC.

In addition to her father, Alvin G. Rettig, she is survived by her daughter, Katherine E. "Kat" Vegerano and her husband Joseph of Butler, PA; grand-daughter, Adelina Vegerano; three siblings, Robert Rettig and his wife Carol of Frederick, MD, Bonnie Isovitsch and her husband George of Chocowinity, NC, and Roger Rettig and his wife Nancy of Butler, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, Bertha Herold Rettig, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Meindl, whom she married on June 4, 1983 and who passed away on May 13, 2017.

Friends will be received Friday, September 14, 2018, 6 - 8 pm at Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 2:30pm at the St. Luke Lutheran Church, 330 Hannahstown Road Cabot, PA, with Reverend Barry Keurulainen, officiating.

Private Burial took place in the Gruenwald Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to St. Luke Lutheran Church, 330 Hannahstown Rd., Cabot, PA 16023 or to Alliance Defending Freedom, 15100 N. 90th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85260.
