Harold H. "Hesh" Mintz

Harold H. "Hesh" Mintz, age 81, of Lancia Royale Nursing Home in Steubenville, Ohio, formerly of Butler, died Sunday, August 21, 2005 at the Trinity West Medical Center in Steubenville.

Born in Butler, Pennsylvania, June 15, 1924, he was the son of Bernard and Rebecca Belkan Mintz.

He was alumni of Butler High School and a member of the Butler Area Sports Hall of Fame. He was a former member of the Congregation B'nai Abraham.

Mr. Mintz was a retired attorney and had been an administrator at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio.

He served as a commissioned officer in the Navy during World War II.

Surviving are a son, Frederick Mintz of San Diego, California; two grandchildren; and nephews.

A sister and two brothers preceded him in death.

There will be no public visitation.

Funeral services and burial will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2005 at B'nai Abraham Cemetery with Cantor Adriane Caplowe of Congregation B'nai Abraham officiating.
