Loretta "Jean" Monks

February 13, 1943 - September  23, 2004
 

Loretta "Jean "Monks, age 61of Summit Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2004 at 9:45 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Monks was born in Butler, Pennsylvania on February 13, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Floyd A. Rauschenberger, Sr. and Dorothy Huselton Rauschenberger.

Mrs. Monks was a homemaker, she was a member of North Street Christian Church, Good Samaritan Shrine #32 of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Butler Chapter # 45 of The Order of the Eastern Star, Order of the Amaranth #145, and a former member of and currently a member of the executive board of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls Assembly #25.

She is survived by her Husband, Gary Lee Monks, Sr. whom she married August 4, 1961, by two sons, Gary Lee Monks, Jr. and David A. Monks both of Butler, Pennsylvania, one daughter, Kellie A. Monks of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, five grandchildren, twelve nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends and Family of Loretta Jean Monks will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001 on Saturday and Sunday, September 25 and 26, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral Services will be from The North Street Christian Church, 220 West North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001 on Monday, September 27, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. with the Reverend Robert C. Huber her church pastor officiating. Interment will follow in North Side Cemetery.

The family of Loretta Jean Monks suggests donations to The American Cancer Society or to The American Diabetes Association.

Officers and members of the Good Samaritan Shrine #32 of the White Shrine of Jerusalem will assemble at the Funeral home at 6:45 P.M. Saturday September 25, 2004 to conduct a Shrine memorial service.
