Erla Belle McCandless Peth, age 82,
formerly of Double Road, Renfrew, Pennsylvania, died Friday,
December 9, 2005 at 3:40 a.m. in St. John's Specialty Care Center,
Mars, Pennsylvania. Born August
7, 1923 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late
James and Elizabeth Furher McCandless.
Mrs. Peth was protestant by faith.
Mrs. Peth retired in 1988 from
Saxonburg Ceramics following 22 years of service. She was formerly
employed by the Butler Bantam Car Company. She enjoyed bingo and her
grandchildren.
Mrs. Peth is survived by two
daughters, Mrs. Ralph Pennington of Evans City, Pennsylvania and
Linda Hopper of Bruin, Pennsylvania; three sons, Ronald and his
wife, Elaine, Peth, Walter and his wife, Frances, Peth, and Larry
and his wife, Beverly, Peth all of Renfrew, Pennsylvania; sixteen
grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; her sister, Marion Grubbs
of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania and by four nieces.
Her husband, Robert D. Peth, who was
deceased June 23, 1976, preceded Mrs. Peth in death.
Friends will be received at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler,
Pennsylvania on Sunday, December 11, 2005 from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9.
Services will be held at the Thompson
- Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, December 12, 2005 at 3:30
p.m. with Reverend John Hoogerbrugge, chaplain of St. John's
Specialty Care Center, officiating. Interment will follow in Butler
County Memorial Park.
