Rettig Age 64 of Bonniebrook Road Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away
Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at 1:25 A.M. at his home.
Born in Butler County on August 29, 1940,
he was the son of the late Harry L. Rettig and Susanne Chupka Rettig.
Mr. Rettig was a lifelong member of the
North Main St. Church of God. He retired in 2001 from Armco/A K Steel
after 39 years in the Strip Shears Department. He was a member of the
Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club, the National Rifle Association,
and the Keenagers Sunday school class of his church. He was a veteran
of the United States Army.
Dave enjoyed hunting, refinishing
antique furniture, restoring antique cars, and was an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis
Montag Rettig, they were married on September 8, 1961, one daughter,
Mrs. Robert (Pamela) Slomers, Jr. of East Butler, Pennsylvania, one
granddaughter, Shelby Sue Slomers, one sister, Mrs. Neal (Diana) Mason
of Carmi, Illinois, one step-brother, Donald Currie and his wife Carol
of Fenelton, Pennsylvania, his step-mother, Mrs. Helen Rettig of
Butler, Pennsylvania and by several nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Friends and family of David L. Rettig
will be received on Thursday, November 4, 2004 at the Thompson-Miller
Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be from the North
Main Street Church of God, 1201 North Main Street Extension, Butler,
Pennsylvania on Friday, November 5, 2004 at 11:00 a.m., with the
Reverend David Brown and Kenneth Hall of North Main Street Church of
God and the Reverend Thomas Pierotti of Trinity Lutheran Church
officiating. Interment will follow in The Gruenwald Cemetery.
