Rieger, Sr., age 90 of Boydstown Road, West Sunbury, Pennsylvania,
died Monday, August 22, 2005 at 1:38 p.m. in the Butler Memorial
Hospital. Born February 14, 1915
in Center Township, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Daniel
Rieger and the late Amelia Kummer.
Mr. Rieger was the former owner and
operator of the Rieger Lawn and Garden store in Freeport,
Pennsylvania. He established the Gravely Tractor in Western
Pennsylvania and also sold International and Gravely Tractors for 45
years. Mr. Rieger was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport,
Pennsylvania. He was an officer at the time the Butler Farm Show was
founded in 1948.
Mr. Rieger is survived by two sons and
their wives, Gilbert and Eileen Rieger, Jr. of Karns City,
Pennsylvania, James E. and Suzie Rieger of West Sunbury, Pennsylvania;
one daughter, Linda Ochs and her companion, George Bonnett of Butler,
Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a
number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rieger was preceded in death by his
wife, Florence O. Plaisted Rieger who passed away on March 23, 1989
and by one sister and three brothers.
Friends will be received at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler,
Pennsylvania on Thursday, August 25, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson -
Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, August 26, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with
Pastor Karl Schoch, hospice chaplain at Southerncare officiating.
Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. |
