Mary Dorothy Schmidt

Mary Dorothy Schmidt, 93, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away at 8:50 p.m. on October 28, 2011 at the New Haven Court at Clearview.

She was born February 18, 1918 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Lewis A. Christie and Louretta (Badger) Christie.

Mrs. Schmidt was a member at Grace at Calvary Church. She worked as a secretary in the family business W.H. Schmidt, Inc., which was a general contracting company in Ambridge, PA. Mrs. Schmidt was a member of the Women's Club of Butler and the Acacia Club of Butler.

Mrs. Schmidt is survived by one daughter, Alice Louretta and her husband William Teasdale of Rochester, NY; one daughter-in-law, Reena Schmidt of Ambridge, PA; one granddaughter, Beth (Michael) Savage; three grandsons, William (Joanna) Teasdale, Jr., A. Robert (Amanda) Schmidt, III, and James Teasdale; six great-grandchildren, Jessica and Erica Savage, William III, Benjamin and Abigail Teasdale and Kobain Schmidt; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Weaver of Butler, PA; one brother, Wilber Christie of East Butler, PA; two sister-in-laws, Ruth Campbell of Ambridge, PA and Dorothy Christie of Butler, PA and a number of nieces and nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Robert Schmidt, who passed away in 1992, one son, Arthur R. Schmidt, Jr., one sister, Glenda Lang; and two brothers, Dean and Paul Christie.

Friends will be received Friday, November 04, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 05, 2011 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Reverend Donald Short officiating.

Burial will take place in the Sylvania Hills Cemetery.
