Paul S. Schneider

Paul S. Schneider, 87, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 2, 2013 at 2:50 p.m. at his residence.

He was born August 15, 1926 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to the late Stephen Schneider and Edith (Kumrow) Schneider.

Mr. Schneider was a veteran of the United States Army, serving with the 400th Army Field Artillery during World War II in Germany and Yugoslavia. He founded Schneider's Heating, Inc. in 1953, owning and operating it until his retirement in 1983. Mr. Schneider was a member of Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Post #778 of Lyndora. He was a life member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #64. Mr. Schneider enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

Mr. Schneider is survived by three sons, Michael P. Schneider and his wife Cindy, Samuel Schneider and his wife Sandy and Gary W. Schneider and his wife Sharon, all of Butler, PA; two daughters, Paula J. Wolf and her husband Roger and Dianna L. Reynolds and her husband William, both of Butler, PA; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Clare Bonnett of Napa, CA and Mary Krueger and her husband William of Wampum, PA; one sister-in-law, Sylvia Wansittler of New Castle, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Erla Schneider, whom he married May 6, 1953, and who passed away August 25, 1988; and two brothers.

Friends will be received Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, with Reverend Jeff Curtis of Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church officiating.

Burial will take place in the Mt. Chestnut Cemetery.

Officers and members of the American Legion Post #778 of Lyndora and the VFW Post #249 will conduct graveside military honors.
