Janet L. Shever, age 100,
formerly of Butler, PA passed away on March 28, 2013
at 9:05 p.m. from the Paramount Senior Living at
She was born April 26, 1912
in Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania to the late Eli
Henshaw and Estella (Rader) Henshaw.
Mrs. Shever was a
homemaker. She was a member of Grace @ Calvary
Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Shever enjoyed
sewing, baking, crafts, traveling and fishing.
Mrs. Shever is survived by
four daughters, Shirley Lyon and her husband Samuel
of Butler, PA, Karen Grosclaude of Prospect, PA,
Janice Steffenauer and her husband David of
Bloomsburg, PA, and Joyce Kopp and her husband
Terrance of The Woodlands, TX; eleven grandchildren;
seventeen great grandchildren; one son-in-law
Richard Horan of Chapel Hill, NC; two sisters Betty
Schaefer of Zelienople, PA and Geraldine Smith of
Connoquenessing, PA and also by several nieces and
In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death by her husband Blair E.
Shever whom she married on April 26, 1937 and who
passed away on October 17, 1994; one daughter
Dolores Horan; one brother Beryl Henshaw and one
son- in- law Thomas Grosclaude.
Friends will be received
Monday, April 1, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East
North Street Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held immediately following
at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Short of Grace @
Calvary Evangelical Church, officiating.
Burial will take place in the
Butler County Memorial Park.
