Ella N. Smith

February 23, 1916 ~ July 31, 2015

 

Ella N. Smith, 99, of Butler, Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord on July 31, 2015 at 4:50 p.m. at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born February 23, 1916 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late James G. Williams and Bessie M. (Wilhelm) Williams.

Mrs. Smith was a former secretary at Trinity Church and Truscon Steel in Youngstown, OH. She was a long time member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Denise Smith Vogado and her husband Paul of Maryville, TN and Debbe Picerno and her husband Jeff of Butler, PA; four grandchildren, Michele Slone and her husband Mike, Jessica Perry and her husband Eugene, Lindy Vogado and her husband Bobby Williamson and Christopher Vogado and his wife Rachel; a step-granddaughter, Danielle Boroski and her husband Ed; three great-grandsons, Adam and Elijah Perry and George Slone; two step great-grandsons, Tyler and Shaun Boroski; her daughter-in-law, Barb Smith of Mansfield, OH; two nieces; and two nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Gervin L. Smith, whom she married November 27, 1943, and who passed away January 3, 2010; one son, Rev. James L. Smith, who passed away in June 2009; one brother; three sisters; and one nephew.

Friends will be received Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA. Funeral services will be held immediately following at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis W. Molnar of Wallace Memorial Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh officiating.

Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, C/O: Activities Department, 107 Sunnyview Circle, Butler, PA 16001.
