Frederick E. Thompson

Frederick E. Thompson, 85, of Chicora, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 30, 2012 at 4:43 a. m. at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

He was born March 12, 1927 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late James Edward Thompson and Anna Mary (Waugaman) Thompson.

Mr. Thompson was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Italy. He worked at Armco Steel as a Roll Grinder until his retirement in 1987. Mr. Thompson enjoyed working with his hands, mechanical things, camping and volunteering at Little Mahonning Bible Campgrounds. He attended Faith Fellowship Alliance Church..

Mr. Thompson is survived by his loving wife Martha J. (Groves) Thompson, whom he married September 6, 1949; one daughter, Jean Smith and her husband Gale of Chicora, PA; three sons, F. Paul Thompson and his wife Brenda (Plaisted) of Chicora, PA, Benjamin Thompson and his wife Donna (Snow) of Bruin, PA and Jeffrey Thompson and his wife Stephanie (Reynolds) of Crestview, FL; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two great-grandchildren.

Immediate and extended family will be received Monday, December 31, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA. Funeral services will be held immediately following at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home with, Pastor Richard Jenks of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church officiating.

Burial will take place in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.

In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations are suggested to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
