Robert C. Trofimuk, 82, of
Butler, Pennsylvania passed away on January 12, 2012
at 10:25 a.m. at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born December 3,
1929 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Alexander
Trofimuk and Viola (Smith) Trofimuk. .
Mr. Trofimuk graduated from
Butler High School in 1945 and enlisted in the
United States Army where he served in the 7/82nd
during the Korean War. At the end of the war he was
stationed in Japan and Germany where he served as a
military police officer attached to NATO. While in
Germany he met his future wife Barbel (Hohnemann)
Trofimuk. He finished his 23 year military career at
Andrews Air Force Base in the Inspector General's
Office. He returned to Butler in 1969 and was
employed as a claims adjustor for the Hartford
Insurance Company until his retirement. In his spare
time he enjoyed coaching little league baseball,
football, and also reading. He was an avid follower
of Knoch High Football.
Mr. Trofimuk is survived by
his loving spouse Barbel (Hohnemann) Trofimuk, three
sons, Robert C. Trofimuk, Jr. of Butler, PA, Mark A.
Trofimuk and his wife Cindy of Wilkes-Barre, PA, and
Todd B. Trofimuk and his wife Kimberly of Saxonburg,
PA;and also by several grandsons.
There will be no public
visitation. A private memorial service will be held.
