Walker, age 75, of McGrady Hollow Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died
Sunday, August 7, 2005 at 2:57 p.m. in the emergency room of Butler
Memorial Hospital as a result of a motorcycle accident on Route 422 in
Clearfield Township. Born in
Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, December 15, 1929, he was the son of
Delphin and Mary Weaver Walker.
Mr. Walker had been a coal miner with
Union Local 4963 and retired in 1991 after 25 years. He was a
Methodist. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a
member of the Michael Kosar American Legion Post 0778 of Lyndora. He
also belonged to the Slovak Sokol Society, the United Mine Workers
Association and the Harley Owners Group.
Mr. Walker is survived by a daughter,
Mrs. Edward (Heidi) Zaremba of Butler, Pennsylvania; two
grandchildren: Trent and Olivia Zaremba, a stepdaughter, Lisa Clark of
Butler, Pennsylvania and a step-granddaughter, Brittany Clark; two
brothers, Wilber Alfred Walker of Ohio and Kenneth Walker of Renfrew,
Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Ruby) Lipscomb and Mrs. David
(Della) Curzi both of Butler, Pennsylvania; and a number of nieces and
nephews. From a previous marriage, Mr. Walker is survived by three
daughters and five grandchildren.
One sister preceded Mr. Walker in
death.
Friends will be received at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler,
Pennsylvania on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Services will be held at the Thompson -
Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, August 11, 2005 at 11:00 a.m.
with Reverend J. David Panther, pastor of First United Methodist
Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial
Estates. |
