Catherine R. Zickler, 83, formerly of East Jefferson Street, died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the Sunnyview Nursing Home.

Born Aug. 17, 1920, in Butler, she was the daughter of Alfred and Irene Marx Gallagher.

She was a mail clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Butler before she retired.
Mrs. Zickler was Catholic. She was a member of the National Retired Federal Employees and the AARP.

Surviving are three daughters, Viki Sherman of Butler, Suzanne Byers of Naperville, Ill., and Carolyn Nock of Mass.

Her first husband, Victor C. Paradis, died in 1967. Her second husband, John E. Zickler Jr., died Dec. 14, 1999.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers.

There is no public visitation. A private memorial service was held at the convenience of the family. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery in Butler.
