A Life Remembered . . .
M. Jane Brown

January 31, 1920 - April 5, 2008

Mrs. M. Jane Brown age 88 of Forest Mere Circle Butler, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 10:00 p.m. surrounded by her family and wonderful caregivers in her home. 

Born January 31,1920 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Ivor V. Davis and Mary Jane Seamans Davis. 

Mrs. Brown was a graduate of New Castle High School and attended Westminster College, New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Brown was a lifelong member of Calvary Evangelical Presbyterian Church and currently was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in America. When at Calvary she was the church librarian and donated her time for the church food cupboard. She was an avid volunteer and was a member of The Butler Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She worked in the Coda Shop for the Butler Symphony. Mrs. Brown was a founding member and a former member of the board of directors of the Calvary Daycare. Mrs. Brown was a member of Oak Hills Garden Club and the Butler Country Club She was an avid reader and lead weekly bible study groups. She loved to garden and tend to her flowers. 

She is the beloved wife of sixty-seven years of J. Robert Brown they were married on September 21,1940. 

Mrs. Brown is the loving mother of two daughters, Rebecca Jane Camlin of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania and Judy Barkley and her husband Jack of Butler, Pennsylvania, grandmother of Heidi Vandrak and her husband Bob of Harmony, Pennsylvania, Heather Sullivan and her husband Mike of Chesapeake, Virginia, Jennifer Ivory and her husband John and Jay Barkley and his wife Jennifer both of Gibsonia Pennsylvania, great grandmother of Julia, Jane, Bobby, Stephen, Andrew, Emily, Ella, Katie, and Erin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. 

Friends will be received at The Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc. on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. 

Funeral Services will be from The Westminster Presbyterian Church in America on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend H. Curtis McDaniel of Westminster Presbyterian Church in America officiating.  Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum of Butler County Memorial Park.
