Karen Casey

September 14, 1949 - June 25, 2008

Karen Casey, age 58 of East Water Street, Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 11:22 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born September 14, 1949 in Grove City, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of Catherine Delores Hasychak and the late Steve Hasychak.

Mrs. Casey was a registered nurse for Pyramid Healthcare. She was an active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot. Karen was a graduate of Knoch High School. She received her Associates degree in nursing from Butler County Community College and her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Karen was instrumental in starting the Stephen Ministry Program at her church.

Mrs. Casey is survived by her son, Justin Casey of Valencia, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Debora Twyman and Megan Casey both of Butler, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, her mother, Catherine Delores Hasychak of Butler, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Mike Hasychak, and Steve Hasychak both of Butler, Pennsylvania and by six nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Casey was preceded in death by her father and her sister, June Haney.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, June 27, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church on Saturday, June 28, 2008 from 10 to 11 a.m.

Services will be held at the St. Luke Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jason Hoerth and Pastor Barry Keurulainen of St. Luke Lutheran Church officiating.
