Esther Virginia Clark

September 3, 1929 - June 8, 2008

Esther Virginia Clark, age 78 of Grant Avenue Ext, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Sunday morning, June 8, 2008 at U.P.M.C. Shadyside.

Born September 3, 1929 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Charles Harvey Christy and the late Esther Edith Walter Christy.

Mrs. Clark was a co -owner and bookkeeper for Clark Trucking in Butler, Pennsylvania. She was a member of East Butler Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder. She also served as the church pianist and organist. Mrs. Clark and her husband wintered in Florida for thirty years and also enjoyed RVing.

Mrs. Clark is survived by her husband, John D. Clark, Sr. whom she married on July 17, 1946, and by one daughter, Sheila Hartle and her husband Dave of Butler, Pennsylvania; four sons, John D. Clark Jr. and his wife Diana of Polk, Pennsylvania, Bruce Clark and his wife Cathy of Butler, Pennsylvania, George Clark and his wife Carol of Butler, Pennsylvania, Douglas Clark and his wife Toni of Butler, Pennsylvania; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, two brothers, Richard L. Christy of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Earl M. Christy of Butler, Pennsylvania and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Harvey Christy and Ralph L. Christy.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Mary Sickels-Kitchen of East Butler Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in North Butler Cemetery of Oakland Township.
