Janice "Jan" E. Fair, age 47of the
Terrace Apartments, South Cliff Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, was
promoted to glory on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at her
home. Born on October 31, 1960
in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth R.
Fair and the late Eva M. McClaine.
Janice was a member of the Salvation
Army, the home league, an assistant for the Girl Guard Program, and
a member of the League of Mercy. She was employed most recently at
the 7-11 convenience store on Pittsburgh Road, but had worked at all
three 7-11's in Butler. Janice also was employed at Little Caesars
Pizza and had previously worked as a social worker, shelter monitor
and youth program coordinator for the Salvation Army in Atlantic
City, Trenton New Jersey, and also in Pittsburgh. She was a 1980
graduate of Butler High School and attended Butler County Vo Tech
studying to be a nurse's aide.
Janice is survived by four sisters,
Mrs. Martin (Mary) Mauthe of Hooker, Pennsylvania, Thressa A. Fair,
Linda D. Mauthe, Nancy L. Fair all of Butler, Pennsylvania, by one
brother, Kenneth Leroy Fair also of Butler, Pennsylvania, and by
several nieces and nephews and several grand-nieces and grand
nephews.
Janice was preceded in death by three
sisters, Gloria Parker, Lucille Fair, and Carrie Fair and two
brothers, Lewis and Donald Fair.
Friends and family of Janice Fair
will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East
North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Monday, July 7, 2008 from 2 to
6 p.m.
Funeral services will follow at 6
p.m. with Majors Paul and Virginia Downing of the Salvation Army,
Retired officiating. Interment will take place in The Rose Hill
Cemetery.
